Roog Joins Extended Music

On July 1, DJ-record producer Roog will switch over to Extended Music the new kid on the dance music block. The Dutch house music icon believes that his move to Extended Music will offer him plenty of new challenges and opportunities. With the support of its founding fathers Sony Music and AT Productions, newly created Extended Music has now become active in artist management, concert and event bookings, as well record production. One of Roog's first steps at Extended Music will be to produce his first ever album packed with his own tracks. The disc will be released around the world by Sony.

Ronald Molendijk, Creative Director of Extended Music, says, We take great pride and delight in the fact that a renowned artist like Roog has teamed up with us. Together, we will be realizing the next phase in his career. I see it as my personal challenge to bring this style, taste and music to an even wider audience."

The rise of Roog

In 2001, Roog rose to public prominence after performing at the Sensation dance event in Amsterdam. After that breakthrough, he climbed to the top of his profession in the Netherlands, whose dance deejays have become the most sought-after artists in the industry, even conquering the difficult-to-impress United States . In 2003, Roog tasted his first international success with the release of Back Together and began performing across the globe. His series of C Ds entitled Sound of Love & Dedication (2001-2005) rank among the worlds top-selling house albums of all time. Roog was the first Dutch national to become to resident DJ at the event company Defected in the House, which tours the world and is part of the London-based house music label Defected.

Each year, Roog does about 300 DJ gigs as a solo artist. On top of that, the DJ-producer has a nose for successful partnerships. He has joined forces with Erick E to form the madly popularly duo Housequake. The second edition of their very own Housequake Festival will take place at the Dutch Aquabest theme par k on Saturday May 22. On the same day, the two will roll out the album Housequake Volume 4.

In addition, Roog has partnered up with his brother Greg van Bueren to create Hardsoul. Together with Chocolate Puma, the two of them compiled the prestigious album Amsterdam in the House on the Defected label in 2009. The two brothers also run their own two record labels, called Hardsoul Productions and R&G Electronics. Among Hardsoul’s credits are international hits and several awards, including Golden Gnomes (Gouden Kabouters) and International House Music Awards.
